Pokémon Go在台颳起旋風，交通違規事件頻傳，有基層員警被要求每天統計寶可夢罰單並納入評比，還要員警調查寶物（怪物）容易出現的路段和場所；有員警反彈，派出所裡面沒人在玩，要如何查？
鑒於這款手機遊戲衍伸出的交通違規案愈來愈多，警察機關也有應變計畫，嘉義警方要求基層員警要調查寶可夢容易出現的路段跟場所，並填入表格中，等於增加員警的工作量，甚至連下班後都要注意玩家的動態路線。
有基層員警反彈並在臉書PO文，「交整就交整（交通整頓），為什麼嘉義還要同仁特別提報『轄區內容易抓寶路段』；車禍就車禍，為什麼高雄還要同仁特別調查是否『因為寶可夢肇事』」，還說派出所沒人在玩寶可夢，要怎麼查？
民雄分局第五組長蔡輝賓說，「確定這個熱點以後，我們就規劃警力，在那邊勸導民眾不要開車玩手機，這樣會為危害到他人生命安全，這個軟體的部分，我們已經先有下載下來了。」
有網友也為基層員警抱不平，批評分局作法似乎有點太over，但分局也指出，有些寶可夢玩家玩得太入迷，早把交通法規拋在腦後，為減少類似違規一再發生，必須調查那些路段或是場所是玩家們容易聚集的地方，作為加強勸導的重點區。
台中也有警局要求各單位，每天都要統計取締開車或騎車在玩寶可夢的件數，還會進行評比，甚至有員警被要求一定要下載該款遊戲，還要研究怎麼玩、怎麼走、怎麼抓，「被迫」加入抓寶行列。（新聞來源：東森新聞）
